Introduction to Plastic Pipe Extruders

In plastic extrusion molding systems, the plastic extruder itself is typically referred to as the "main machine," while the downstream equipment-the plastic extrusion molding machinery that complements it-is designated as the "auxiliary machine." Over more than a century of development, plastic extruders have evolved from their original single-screw configuration into a diverse array of models, including twin-screw, multi-screw, and even screwless designs.

The plastic extruder (the main machine) can be paired with a wide variety of downstream molding equipment-such as machinery for producing pipes, films, rods, monofilaments, flat yarns, strapping bands, extruded nets, sheets (plates), profiles, granules, and cable sheathing-to form various plastic extrusion production lines capable of manufacturing a broad spectrum of plastic products. Consequently, plastic extrusion machinery remains-and will continue to be-one of the most widely utilized types of equipment within the plastic processing industry.
